Lifestyle media event

Midsummer drive

In June 2024, Volvo Cars invited global lifestyle media and content creators to a summery Gothenburg. During a 2-day stay, each group had the opportunity to experience Swedish midsummer, explore Scandinavian lifestyle and how it is reflected in Volvo’s products, and test-drive the 2025 electric and plug-in hybrid cars.

Together with Volvo Cars, we at A+A developed the concept for "Midsummer Drive" – an inspiring event filled with insights and experiences aligned with Volvo Cars' vision for a sustainable future. A+A was responsible for the visual and creative design and execution, and held the coordinating project management role.

The event, which spanned two weeks, took place at World of Volvo, Hällsnäs Hotel & Restaurant, and Råda Säteri.

Leadership summit

Act now, Win tomorrow

Act Now - Win Tomorrow' wasn't just a theme; it was our playbook. And together with Stena Line, we challenged the norms of what a leadership event can be.

In February 2024, nearly 120 leaders gathered for a day and a half at Draken in Gothenburg, Sweden. Workshops, presentations, and personal meetings overlapped with important conversations and laughter. We developed all event content, such as main messages, scripts, presentations, and physical elements, in close collaboration with Stena Line.

After execution, the event was smoothly transformed into a broadcast-adapted version. This meant that an additional 250+ leaders were able to access the key content during a live half-day already in March.

At these 5 sites, a live audience enjoyed internal presenters, inspirational speakers, and artists. The remaining employees had the opportunity to participate online.

A+A was responsible for the graphic expression and event planning in close collaboration with Volvo and the 5 selected "party sites." We were also producers for the event in Torslanda, Göteborg, and the global broadcast from all five locations.

DIGITAL KICK-OFF

Helping the customer drive change

For two half-days, approximately 150 employees from Mölnlycke Health Care’s global top management team participated in a digital kick-off focusing on the company’s new customer centric strategy. The kick-off was originally planned as a physical event but with short notice it was turned into a hybrid meeting, which finally had to be executed as a completely digital event. In just a couple of days the physical elements and set-up for the main stage and breakout rooms were adapted to a studio format. We developed all content for the kick-off in close collaboration with Mölnlycke Health Care, including key messages, scripts, presentations, and physical elements.

Trade fair

IAA Commercial Vehicles

IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover is held every two years and is the world’s largest trade fair for mobility, transportation and logistics. In 2008, we became the lead agency for Volvo Trucks’ stand. This entailed creating the design, concept, communication and interactive solutions. In addition, we had overall responsibility for the entire project up to delivery. The images are from IAA 2018, when Volvo displayed Vera – a self-driving vehicle – for the first time. This year Volvo also broke their sales record, with over 2,500 trucks sold.

We were involved as producers early on, which allowed us to influence the set-up and structure to make sure it was dynamic and interactive. We also took on the role of show caller in both rehearsals and the live broadcast. Just over a month later we repeated the procedure, since the event was held physically in Shanghai for about 500 participants.

Education campaign

Stop, Look, Wave

“Stop, Look, Wave” is a Volvo campaign aimed at teaching school children how to behave safely in traffic. We developed the training kit consisting of an interactive story, props, give-aways and an instructor’s guide. The kit was first developed for Volvo Trucks, then in a revised version for Volvo Buses. So far, more than 100,000 children worldwide have participated in the training.

In 2022/23, the material was updated to make it more contemporary, and Volvo relaunched the campaign.
